This is Hootie's first CD, an independent release back in 1992 from before they were signed up by Atlantic Records. Since it was an independent release, there were relatively few made, so this is definitely one of the prize items in my Hootie collection! There is a certain youthfulness to the tracks on this CD when you compare them to the same tracks released on later albums |

This was the first CD I bought, while working in North Carolina. America in the summer of 1995.
This is still probably my favourite. For some unknown reason, the last track isn't mentioned
on the CD insert, or on the track list on the CD itself. I have seen a
Japanese import version of this album, with tracks 1-10 the same, but with
five live tracks added on the end. However, at £30 (two or three times the usual cost), it seems slightly
extravagant just for an extra five tracks!
This is also the second best selling debut album of all time apparently! |

This is their second major album, which contains some cracking tracks. The title track is a little bizarre, but there are some great songs such as Earth Stopped Cold At Dawn and So Strange. The band's unique style comes through more in this album than in the first. |

Their third major album is finally here - released in the UK on Monday, 14th September '98. The first track, I Will Wait was released as a single in the UK on the 26th October too. The wait has been worth it too, it's a cracking album! I have two releases of this album, a UK release bought the day it was released here in the UK, and a US release. In America, there was a special limited edition version of Musical Chairs - although the CD was no different, you got it in a small Hootie sports bag, along with a Fairweather Johnson tour programme, Musical Chairs T-Shirt, and Hootie plastic mac. The CD store owner who I managed to buy this from also included a Hootie poster too! |
